台灣與訪問失敗相關的研究多半只分析受訪者的特徵對完訪的影響。少數研究注意到訪問兩階段接觸與訪談的影響因素有所不同。更少的相關研究著重在訪問失敗的訪員效應。本研究計畫參考國外的相關理論與實證研究結果,應用整合了縱貫之訪問階段及橫斷面之訪問失敗的理論研究架構,探討訪問接觸成敗與成功接觸後之訪談合作與否的關連性,並進一步分析此關連是否有訪員特徵,訪員工作經驗與工作態度上明顯的差異;而此訪員效應又是否在面訪與電訪之間有所不同。本研究透過不同方法的前後測,發展適合本土可以預測訪問成敗且具有再測之性效度的訪員工作態度量表。希望研究結果不僅提供國內訪員效應研究的理論與實證研究的參考,未來繼續作國際比較的基礎,同時提供實務工作者管理與儲備訪員之參考。

The previous studies associated with on unit nonresponse in Taiwan have been predominantly focused on respondent effects. Few of them paid attention to the effects on unit nonresponse. Even fewer of them examined the interviewer effect on unit nonresponse. This research project is to base the conceptual framework in two axes according to the previous literature mostly from Western societies, respectively longitudinal aspect of interview stage as well as cross-sectional aspect of the factors from societal to individual levels associated with unit nonresponse. The research questions are as follows: (1) Whether is the result of contact correlated with cooperation given the respondents are contacted? (2) Whether there is significant interviewer effect, including interviewer characteristics, experience, and work/role attitudes, on the correlation? (3) Whether does the interviewer effects differentiate between personal interview and telephone interview. Using pretest and test of attitudinal scale to measure interviewer work/role attitudes between two modes, this project is also to develop and validate the scale of interviewer work/role attitudes. The results are expected to make a great contributions to the study of interviewer effects on unit nonresponse in Taiwan and cross-culturally and the recruitment, training and evaluation of interviewers.
