本研究的目的是要探討中間商在電子商務環境下的轉型策略。首先是相關文獻的探討,並建立本研究的觀念架構。接著對傳統中間商的功能、電子商務環境下的中間商 轉型因素、轉型策略,以及電子商務的新中間商功能等,進行問卷調查。針對百貨批發零售、進出口貿易業的調查,共得74份有效問卷,並將這些資料用因素分 析、集群分析、變異數分析、多重比較檢定等方法加以分析。結果發現,傳統中間商的功能主要可化簡為服務與運送、存貨調節等二項因素,其在電子商務環境下的 轉型因素主要有組織與市場環境、產品特性二者,其轉型策略的主要因素為變革管理,而電子商務環境下的新中間商功能主要為網路交易及服務。中間商業者的轉型 策略可分為被動因應、組織變革、主動積極、開發導向等四種類型,不同的轉型策略會導致不同的新中間商功能,且被動因應型的轉型策略在新中間商功能上比其他 三種策略均顯著較差。

The purpose of this project is to explore the transformation strategies of middlemen under the environment of the electronic commerce (EC). First, we reviewed the related literature and developed the conceptual framework of this research. Then, we conducted a questionnaire survey on the domestic middlemen about their traditional functions, their EC transformation factors, their EC transformation strategies, and their EC functions. Total 74 valid questionnaires were returned from the selected sample in the industries of department stores/wholesalers/retailers and import/export trade. The returned data were analyzed by statistical methods including factor analysis, cluster analysis, ANOVA and multiple comparison. We found that the traditional functions of middlemen can be classified into two factors: service and delivery, and inventory adjustment. The EC transformation factors can be divided into two factors: organizational and market environment, and product characteristic. The main EC transformation strategy is change management and the EC functions of middlemen are focused on the Internet transaction and service. There are four types of EC transformation strategies that the middlemen adopt. The EC transformation strategy will have impact on EC middlemen’s functions and the reactive strategy has significantly poorer EC functions than the other three strategies: organizational change, proactive, and development-oriented.
