本研究設計一套「多元文化之美:多元文化社會科課程方案」,並於一所多族群學校中實施,接受實驗課程為該校六年級甲班的學生,本研究欲瞭解多元文化社會科課 程方案是否能提昇學生的多元文化態度。本研究採「實驗組控制組前後測設計」模式,在實驗組進行「多元文化社會科課程方案」,控制組則不做任何處理。實驗教 學前後,二組皆須接受「多元文化態度」前後測,再利用共變數分析,瞭解實驗組在接受實驗教學後,其多元文化態度是否顯著提昇。實驗組學生共36人,控制組 學生35人。研究結果顯示,實驗組與控制組學生在多元文化態度上達顯著差異(F=4.50, P<.05)。經比較二組的平均數發現,實驗組學生多元文化態度顯著高於控制組學生。亦即,多元文化社會科課程方案可有效提昇學生的多元文化態度。

This paper reports on a case study which was undertaken to study issues fundamental to a multicultural social studies program. During the study, a class of multiethnic elementary students was accepted the multicultural social studies program. The data reported reflect the Han and aboriginal student\' learning experience. Results concerning four themes of the research are discussed: cultural perspectives, operational curriculum, and classroom climate. Findings indicate that the multicultural social studies program can improve students\' multicultural perspectives and cultural concepts. Students of different ethnic backgrounds may have different perspectives of culture, students prefer student-centered curriculum, the multicultural classroom should be open and democratic. All of these factors influence students\' learning should be taken into account when planning a multicultural social studies curriculum.
