由 於青少年處於尋求自主的發展階段,親子衝突往往更加明顯。親子衝突在本研究中被廣義定義為雙方中的任一方因為對方的存在而有任何需求滿足受挫,或是期望落 空的「狀態」。這種狀態可以出於單方的想像或認定,不一定有事實基礎,也不一定會被任何一方察覺--被察覺的親子衝突則稱為「衝突知覺」。研究者從個人的 觀察指出,親子關係中,「角色」對於親方行為的影響大於子方,親子衝突在父母的主觀世界中,比較容易以角色壓力(親職壓力)而非親子衝突的形式被察覺,而 在子女的主觀世界中則比較容易以衝突知覺呈現。因此研究者認為父母的親職壓力是親子衝突的重要指標,也是親子衝突過程中的關鍵性變數。本研究的目的一方面 是對青少年父母的親職壓力內涵作更深入的瞭解,另一方面也希望初步探究親職壓力與子女衝突知覺間的關聯。研究將分別採用質化與量化研究方法,分兩個階段進 行。第一個階段的工作包括文獻及檔案分析,並邀請青少年的父母舉辦焦點團體,希望能深入瞭解青少年父母的親職壓力內涵,以及它們背後的親職信念及教養期 望。第二個階段則是發展問卷及量表,針對國中青少年及其父母進行調查研究。針對親方的親職壓力、親職信念、教養期望,以及子方的親子衝突知覺、正面關係知 覺以及孝道信念,分析這些變數之間的關聯。 研究結果顯示家長們最明顯而常見的的憂慮是有關社會和教育環境的不安或不滿。父親們的普遍憂慮和母親們相當相似,不過母親們有各式各樣憂慮的比率普遍比父 親們高,組合也比較多樣化。本研究共發現七種較常見的親職壓力組型,這些常見組型約略顯現家長對於親職困境的普遍知覺順序:首先是大環境不夠好,其次是自 己的教養方法出了狀況,再其次才是孩子的交友問題和親子關係的問題,最不情願承認或察覺的,則是對子女的品德或前途的憂慮。父母所感受的壓力的確和他們的 期望、管教行為及親子衝突有相當顯著的關聯,但這些相當常見的「難唸的父母經」多半只反映父母們自己的修練或煎熬,和子女感受到的親子互動並沒有可預測的 必然關係。青少年所察覺的親子關係知覺和父母的壓力、期望都沒有什麼關聯。父母所報告的教養期望和子女所察覺的期待之間,相關也很低,倒是父母比較能穩定 在家陪伴、子女的學業表現較好可能會使子女認為父母對自己有較高的期望。青少年對於父母期望的知覺雖然未必正確反映父母真正的期望,但卻和他們對親子關係 的評定有關。整體而言,孩子的學業表現大量決定親子之間的互動品質,這是親子雙方對親子關係的知覺交集所在。本研究的結果對父親的部份而言,篩選偏差可能 比較大,對母親而言,則代表性稍佳,但整體而言都算是相當選擇性的樣本。

The purpose of the present study is to explore the nature of parental stress in adolescents\' patents, which is regarded a major indicator of parent-child conflict from parents\' viewpoint. Parent-child conflict is defined as a state wherein the need satisfaction or expectations of either side are frustrated. The conceptual distinction between \'conflict\' and \'perceived conflict\' is critical in this study. The authors assert that parental behaviors depend more on their perceived \'roles,\' and hence parent-child conflicts are more likely to be perceived as \'parental stress\' rather than \'perceived conflict.\' This is the reason why parental stress be the issue focused on in this study. The study was conducted both qualitatively and quantitatively. Qualitatively the study analysed the literature and two existed research files, which had been done by in-depth interviews for parental jobs and parent-child relations. Further group interviews of adolescents\' parents then were conducted as well for this part of study. The purpose of this part of study is to explore the contents of parental stress and underlying belief systems and goals of parenting. Quantitatively the study included a survey, based on the conclusion obtained from the first part of this study. Both parents and their children answered the questionnaires. Parental stresses, parental belief systems, parenting goals were the major variables for parents, and perceptions about parent-child relationship and beliefs about children\'s roles for children, respectively. The purpose of the survey is to examine the relationships among these variables. About 1100 adolescents (aged 13 to 14), along with 324 mothers and 271 fathers of them, answered the questionnaires. The findings support the idea that parental stresses are good indices for the perceived conflict as well as other perceived relationships of children are not well connected to their parents\' perceptions. They hardly predict one another. Instead, the common predictors for children\'s and parents\' perceptions are children\'s performance in school, the time parents spent with their children, and the level of education of parents.
