本研究旨在評估台灣地區智能障礙青年(16足歲至 30 歲)之職業生活素質,並提出增進職業生活素質之建議。 研究對象以立意取樣抽得合乎台灣地區,障礙三等級,高低兩年齡組,以及性別等條件之智能障礙者 240 名,調查研究後,回收完整資料 140 份,回收率為 58.3 %。為加強計質之研究,又深入觀察與評估七位就業個案案主現職的職業生活素質。 研究工具計有五項:有本研究自編之「職業生活素質量表」與「職業生活素質評估側面圖」二者,另外有本整合型之其他子研究的三種工具,即「心理生活素質量 表」、「學校生活素質量表」、與「社區生活素質量表」等三者。運用「職業生活素質量表」所得之研究結果顯示智障青年較多從事非技術性工及體力工,組裝工與 機器設備操作工。同時發現智障者之月薪,福利,保險等客觀之職業生活素質指標多數未符合一般標準,就業之智障者中以享有較好之職務福利與合理職業保險者有 較好之主觀感受的生活素質,至於性別,年齡,障礙等級,婚姻狀況,家長社經地位等變項對於職業生活素質主觀指標之影響並無顯著差異。對於七位智障青年的個 案進行深入觀察與評估後,也發現大部分個案所享之薪資等福祉尚不符標準,他們在「職業準備」與「職場的人文環境」方面的素質亟待提升。然而大部分的個案在 「職業表現」與自我感受之「職業滿意度」上卻頗有可稱道之素質水準。根據研究者將三個相關生活素質領域,即學校生活,社區生活,與心理生活之生活素質數據 對職業生活素質所得之數據進行多元逐步迴歸分析後發現學校生活及社區生活等二個變項能有效地預測就業智障青年的職業生活素質之若干要素。同時發現智障者之 「幸福感 / 滿意感」也會影響其職業生活素質。 研究者建議應落實社會政策,釐清智障者之轉銜計畫,重視智障者之生產能力,妥慎安排智障者之學校生活與社區生活以便增進其職業生活素質,同時要喚醒家庭對 就業智障者之支持,更重要的是要從個案的深入觀察來評估智障者對於職業生活的主觀感受。

The purpose of this study is to assess the work life quality of the mentally retarded youth (age 16 to 30 years old) in Taiwan. 240 mentally retarded youth were selected by proportional stratified sampling. Among the 240 subjects, there are 140 subjects whose work life quality are completely assessed by the self-devised research instrument, the Quality of Work Life Scale. In addition to this questionnaire-cum-interview study approach, another seven cases are under direct observation, interview, and assessment. The work life quality if these seven individuals are described by self-devised Work Life Quality Profile. The research findings include that: (1) most of the subjects are holding non- skill or semi-skill jobs; (2) age, gender, severity of retardation, marriage status, parent\'s socioeconomic status are not proved being the significant variables of their work life quality after examined statistically by t-test or ANOVA; (3) those retarded employees with higher payment, better fringe benefit coverage are more satisfied with their work life; (4) most of the seven cases under direct observation have demonstrated acceptable work life quality, especially in the aspects of \"work performance\" and of \"job satisfaction\". Recommendations are proposed as that social welfare policy, transition from school to work program, integrative community rehabilitation service, family support are necessary factors to the improvement of the work life quality of the mentally retarded youth.
