本研究持續第一年的研究(見陳沁怡、陳斐娟,民87),對情緒智力量表(EQs)進行信效度考驗和常模建立之工作。

EQs在第一年已完成234題項(16構面)之建構,並已實施了第一次預試(N=298人),本年度針對第一次預試結果,修改刪除題項,形成233題 之題本,進行第二次預試,第二次預共分成三組樣本(分別為185人、83人、和80人),各構面之Cronbach α值分別在 .47~ .92之間, .41~ .92之間,.35~ .95之間;另外,EQs與「曾氏心理健康量表」、「賴氏人格測驗」、「人際行為量表」和「愛德華興趣量表」之同時效度分別在-.031~ -.48,-.001~.526,-.001~ -.623,與-.003~ -.414之間。

十六個構面的再測信度則在 .163~ .650之間,驗證性因素分析結果顯示各構面應有extraneous variance可由其他潛在因素解釋。

最後,蒐集906位大學生樣本建立百分等級常模,並依不同性別、年級等再分成六個百分等級常模。

The purpose of this study was to validate the "Emotional Intelligence Scale" (EQs), and to develop college student norms. To continue the research work from the previous year, in which 234 items (including 16 dimensions) were constructed and a pre-test was administered to a sample of 298 college students, researchers revised these EQs items and performed a second pre-test to 3 samples (N=185, 83, and 80, respectively). The Cronbach alpha coefficients on EQs' 16 dimensions for each of the three samples ranged from .47 to .92, .41 to .92, and .35 to .95 .

The concurrent validity coefficients resulting from EQs and the "Zung's Mental Health Scale" were ranging from -.031 to -.480. Those from EQs and the "Lai's Personality Test" were ranging from -.001 to .562. Coefficients for EQs and the "Interpersonal Behavior Inventory" were ranging from -.001 and -.623. And the range for coefficients of EQs and the "EPPS" were between -.003 and -.414.

The test-retest reliability coefficients were in a range of .163 to .650. Confirmatory factor analyses on each of the 16 imensions indicated extraneous variance that might be explained by other latent factors.

Finally, seven norms based on a sample of 906 college students were developed.
