本研究的主要目的係針對國中階段的青少年,探討其同儕團體形成的機制是否與西方相似,均為「物以類聚」?而國內青少年受升學主義文化的影響,是否更突顯學業 成績對於同儕團體歸屬的影響?並進一步比較父母影響與同儕影響之差異與兩者之交互關係。 為達到上述研究目的,本研究同時採取問卷調查法與焦點團體法,前者樣本是1434,涵蓋台北地區,後者則包含 3個男生團體與 3個女生團體,每團體 5-6 人。 研究結果顯示,樣本之同儕交往係以「物以類聚」為基礎,而同儕團體的類型包括有偏差傾向的活躍型學生、成績好又活躍的學生、表現中庸但偶有偏差的學生,以 及傳統型的好學生等四種。以影響的範圍與層面而言,青少年較易在學涯問題或異性交往問題方面尋求同儕的協助,但是在生活起居或家人相處方面則傾向於接受父 母的建議。有趣的是,青少年認為父母的影響與同儕的影響是平行而不相干的,但是他們認為父母總是干涉他們交友活動,藉此達到影響他們的目的。因此進一步調 查父母,透過配對資料比較,當有助於了解事實的真相。

The first goal of this study is to investigate whether the mechanism of peer affiliation is based on \"homogeneity\"? Second, under our cultural context, is academic success determinant for adolescent peer affiliation? Finally, parental and peer influence on adolescents are compared. Both survey and focus group interview are employed in this study. 1,434 students randomly selecting from junior high schools in Taipei city are surveyed, and six adolescent focus groups are formed separately by sex. The primary analyses show most hypotheses of this study are supported. Base on self reports of the sample, there are 4 types of peer groups---active and deviant, active and brained, moderate, as well as conservative and brained. The comparison of parental and peer influence indicates that peer influence focus on the issues of career plan and making friends with opposite sex. In contrast to peer influence, adolescents usually seek for helps or suggestion from parents when they have problems related to everyday life or relationship with the family.
