資 訊科技之策略性應用已是現今企業體在這競爭激烈的環境中,取得競爭利益之關鍵因素,而企業體會因本身特性之不同而有不同的應用層面,其資訊主管被賦與之管 理者角色也不盡相同,因此如何選擇適任的資訊主管能將其角色扮演成功,以協助組織獲取最大利益,實在是當務之急。這其中牽涉到兩部份的問題,第一部份是以 策略的角度探討企業體界定其對資訊科技之需求程度,因而決定資訊主管的角色需求,第二部份是針對企業體對資訊主管的角色需求,應該選用具有何種人格特質的 人選,才能把此種角色扮演好,而不會造成角色衝突。而過去文獻並未有類似此兩部份之研究,更何況是以整合的觀點。因此,本研究以整合此兩部份的觀點,提出 一個以資訊科技支援組織策略為考量的資訊主管人員任用模式,並藉由實證的方式來驗證此任用模式在企業組織的實際運用狀況,以做為企業組織在選擇一位適任的 資訊主管之參考。

Strategic use of information technology is a key factor for gaining competitive advantage at the current business environment. However, the business organizations with different characteristics will have different requirements for IT applications. The managerial roles in which the CIOs play will be different. Therefore, how to choose an appropriate CIO who can play the specified managerial roles successfully is very important for the business organizations to gain competitive advantage. The above statement involves two considerations. The first is to identify the degree of IT requirements based on strategic perspectives and then specify the managerial roles of CIO. The second is to choose the person with appropriate personality traits in order to play the roles successfully, that is, there is no roles conflict. The previous researches did not discuss the similar topics and not to say, the integration perspectives. Therefore, this study integrates the above two considerations and presents a searching model for CIO appointment based on strategic perspectives. Also, an empirical study is implemented to understand the process. Finally, this model and results expect to serve as a reference frame for business organizations to hire an appropriate CIO.
