全國22所設有護理(學)系的大學(包含四年制大學、四技)之護理系大一新生及應屆畢業生。研究對象排除二技及五專學生,因為二技學生相當於一般大學或科技大學四技學生的大三及大四,與本研究欲比較的護理新生及應屆畢業生,在比較的基準點上,差異可能較大;此外,五專學生畢業後多繼續升學,未進入職場服務,故排除在外。

本研究以社會認知生涯理論探討護生自我效能、結果預期、職業興趣、職業選擇,發展與建構我國護生選擇進入護理職場的行為模型,期提升護生勞動參與率。 本研究共回收938份有效問卷,其中大一護生513人、大四護生425人。大一護生及大四護生在自我效能上未呈現顯著差異;在結果預期上則有顯著差異。邏輯斯迴歸分析顯示:父親教育程度高者、父親職業與醫療服務業相關者、就讀護理系原因為個人興趣者、家人支持學生未來從事護理工作者的大一護生畢業後選擇護理工作為職涯目標的機會較高;大四護生畢業後選擇護理工作為職涯目標的顯著因子包含:父親教育程度、母親職業與醫療服務業相關、家人支持學生未來從事護理工作、選修「最後一哩或臨床就業相關課程」、實習滿意度、及結果預期。

This study aims to investigate factors that contribute to a career choice for nursing based on the social cognitive career theory. This is a cross-sectional, prospective study, using a validated and reliable self-administered questionnaire to collect data through a stratified cluster random sampling from nursing schools. Subjects include first-year nursing students and fourth-year nursing students. The logistic regression model was used to investigate factors associated with the career choice. Nine hundred and thirty-eight valid questionnaires were collected, including 513 first-year nursing students and 425 fourth-year nursing students. The self-efficacy between first-year nursing students and fourth-year nursing students was not found significantly different, but, the outcome expectation was found significantly different between the two student groups. The multivariate logistic regression showed that father’s education level, the association between father’s job and medical care services, reason for studying nursing, and family support were significantly associated with first-year nursing students’ intention to choose nursing as a career. For fourth-year nursing students, father’s education level, the association between mother’s job and medical care services, family support, taking the last mile practicum course, satisfaction with nursing clinical practice, and outcome expectation were found significantly associated with fourth-year nursing students’ intention to choose nursing as a career.
